Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must have a Master’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) from a recognized university.
Relaxation of 5% marks (or equivalent grade) is provided for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/differently-abled candidates.
Admission Categories:
Full-time Ph.D. scholars: Candidates who are fully dedicated to research and are not employed elsewhere.
Part-time Ph.D. scholars: Candidates who are employed and wish to pursue a Ph.D. alongside their job. They must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer.
Admission Procedure:
Entrance Exam: Candidates must appear for the CSJMU Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) unless exempted.
Exemption from Entrance Exam: Candidates who have qualified for UGC-NET/JRF, CSIR-NET/JRF, SLET, or GATE are exempted from the entrance exam.
Interview: Candidates who qualify for the entrance exam (or are exempted) must appear for an interview conducted by the university.

Total Marks: 100.
Sections:
Research Aptitude: 50 marks (covers research methodology, logical reasoning, and general awareness).
Subject-Specific Knowledge: 50 marks (covers advanced topics in the chosen subject).
Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Qualifying Marks: 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
Entrance Exam: Candidates must qualify for the PET (if not exempted).
Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview, where they must present their research proposal and discuss their area of interest.
Final Merit List: The final selection is based on the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam (if applicable) and the interview.
